Danielle and Scott met online. Danielle lived in Somerville, and Scott lived in the faraway town of Weymouth, Massachusetts. We went bowling on our first date and discovered we both had a competitive streak. We think we each won one game, but we aren't sure. Soon after, Scott moved closer to civilization in Cambridge.
Their combined love for antiquing (mostly digging through stuff and not coming home with anything), digging through record stores for that one record, and checking out fun and interesting restaurants have taken them on a journey in and around the Boston area. Danielle even convinced Scott to start running for exercise so that she had a running buddy to train for her first half marathon. In the end, Scott only ran a 5k, but you would think it was Scott who ran the half and Danielle who ran the 5k, based on their finish line photos. When Danielle went gluten-free, they started cooking together to make gluten-free meals and baked goods at home for both themselves and to share with friends. Danielle says that Scott could probably cook those things on his own now, but we all know that's probably not true.
Fast forward to COVID, where Scott and Danielle leave their tiny shoebox apartment behind for a more spacious apartment and a lease that allows a cat. Soon after moving, we adopted Ada Lovelace, a blue tortie with a lot of tortie-tude (but she has a soft spot for her folks). Scott had never had a pet before, but Danielle needed to know pets were in the cards. Scott has proved to be a great cat dad.
Scott finally proposed earlier this year in February, and we are so excited to get married.
